About the Artist - Sumeet Tappoo
Sumeet Tappoo, an award-winning international recording artist who has captivated millions across the globe. Hailing from Fiji and now based in Mumbai, this extraordinary talent has released over 30 solo and collaborative albums, even sharing the stage with Bollywood legends. Beyond his musical prowess, Sumeet has collaborated with renowned artists such as Anup Jalota, the legendary lyricist Gulzar, and Pt. Bhavdeep Jaipurwale. He has also released songs and albums with Shankar Mahadevan and Hariharan. Notably, his album 'Destiny' was launched by the iconic Amitabh Bachchan. Sumeet has also performed a romantic duet, 'Pyar Ho Gaya', with the acclaimed singer Sunidhi Chauhan.
Sumeet Tappoo's exceptional talent and profound humanitarian work have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, culminating most recently on April 24, 2025, when he was bestowed with Fiji's highest civilian honour, the Companion of the Order of Fiji, by the President of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu. This esteemed recognition places him among the nation's most distinguished individuals. In March 2025, he was also honored with the 'Global Peace and Harmony Ambassador Award' by the World Human Rights Organization Belgium. In October 2024, he won two CLEF Music Awards for Best Artist and Best Song in the Ghazal category and received the InterContinental Music Award for Best of Asia in Bollywood Music. Further accolades include the USA Presidential Volunteerism Medal for his humanitarian efforts and the Presidential Medal from the Government of Fiji. In June 2023, he won three CLEF Music Awards for Best Song ("Shivohum"), Best Ghazal Singer, and Best Ghazal ("Ret Ka Ghar").
