The HV4K 4 Gift of Life Fiji Program is a vital initiative serving as a U.S.-based partner to the Sai Prema Foundation Fiji and the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children's Hospital Fiji, operating as a dedicated part of the One World One Family Mission. Our program provides a platform for donors to support life-saving pediatric cardiac surgeries completely free of charge for underprivileged children across the South Pacific. In a region where congenital heart disease affects thousands and specialized care was previously inaccessible, we ensure that geography and financial status are no longer barriers to survival. By maintaining a 0% administration fee policy and committing 33% of our product profits to the cause, HV4K ensures that your tax-deductible donations go directly toward hospital operations and critical infrastructure projects, such as our current initiative to establish a state-of-the-art Pediatric Catheterization Lab. Together, we are building a sustainable future for pediatric health in the Pacific, transforming "Heart Champions" into life-savers for children in need.
The Need
Approximately 200 children are born in Fiji and approximately 2,500 children are born in the Pacific every year with congenital heart disease. There are no super-specialty hospitals in Fiji or the surrounding South Pacific islands where pediatric cardiac surgeries can be performed. Further, most families cannot afford to send their children to countries like Australia or New Zealand, where they can get these surgeries. Therefore, most of these children are left to die.

What is Gift of Life Fiji / Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children's Hospital Fiji?
Gift of Life Fiji is a project sponsored by the Sai Prema Foundation of Fiji, which is a non-government organization (NGO) and registered charitable organization in the Fiji Islands. The purpose of this project is to provide free, life-saving heart surgeries for underprivileged children in the Fiji Islands and surrounding South Pacific islands. There are currently no pediatric cardiac services available in the region and overseas treatment is not affordable for most families at a cost of approximately $100,000 Fiji dollars (FJD) or approximately $45,000 USD per surgery.
As of December 31, 2025, here's what has been accomplished for children in Fiji as well as the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Christmas Island, Tonga, and Samoa.

The 'heart' of the Gift of Life project is the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children's Hospital of Fiji, which is the South Pacific's first super specialty, state-of-the-art children's hospital, offering all surgeries and treatment completely free of cost. The $25 million FJD hospital was inaugurated on April 27, 2022, and stands as the largest project ever undertaken by an NGO in Fiji's history!

Who Performs Surgeries at the Hospital?
There are no trained pediatric cardiac surgeons in the Fiji Islands or surrounding South Pacific islands, so surgeries are undertaken at no cost to the patient as part of 'medical missions' by world-class surgeons and specialist medical teams from Australia, Czech Republic, Greece, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the USA. The teams are made up of surgeons, doctors, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical professionals and range between 20-40 people per mission.
The Sai Prema Foundation is also committed to providing free training abroad to Fijians in order to build local capacity with a vision of one day transforming the hospital into one which is run with local Fijian surgeons, doctors, and medical personnel.
