Vinesh believes that education in human values gives birth to innovation in the spiritual heart of every human being. This in turn creates individual revelation and societal elevation, which is one of the few things that can be done to change the world into one filled with Peace, Truth, Righteousness, Nonviolence, and Love. As such, Vinesh has made a vow to promote human values throughout his life using HV4K as his primary platform.
Vinesh is the President and co-founder of HV4K. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration, B.A. in Economics, and MBA from California State University, Sacramento. He also received a certificate in Human Values from the Sri Sathya Sai International Centre, New Delhi, for completing their Online Program on Human Values. Vinesh currently works as a Manager for the Enterprise Solutions & Projects team in Technology Services at the San Juan Unified School District.
Dorothy believes that learning and practicing basic human values, such as courage, kindness and compassion, will allow children to make better choices in their lives, and she is convinced that instilling these values into all children will enable them to become better people, which in turn will benefit not only them as individuals, but our society as a whole.
Dorothy is the V.P./Treasurer/Secretary and co-founder of HV4K. She holds a diploma in Accounting from Kwantlen University College in Surrey, BC, Canada. Dorothy currently works as a Program Assistant for the California Reading & Literature Project at California State University, Sacramento.
Malini believes that human values are the keys to the Golden Age that we dream of, where all people come together in peace and harmony, and she is doing all that she can to ensure that this happens.
Malini is the creator of HV4K’s Value of the Week (V.O.W.) Program. She holds a B.A. in English Literature from the Sri Sathya Sai University in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India. She also holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies and Teaching Credential from California State University, San Jose. Malini currently works as a fourth grade teacher for Regnart Elementary School in Cupertino, California.
Makoto Ishii, Ph.D.
Makoto believes that human values have the potential to be the single, most powerful unifying force in the world, and he has dedicated his life to the spread of human values.
Makoto holds a B.A. in Law and Teacher Certificate for Junior and Senior High School from Meiji University in Japan. He also holds an M.A. in Human Development from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota and a PhD in Human Science from Saybrook University in California. He is currently self-employed in Tokyo, Japan.
Greg Kim-Ju, Ph.D.
Greg feels that in order to address the current academic, social, and behavioral issues affecting K-12 students locally and nationally, paradigm shifts are required that focus on impacting social settings and building healthy individuals and communities. He believes that HV4K offers a novel approach to achieving this end.
Greg is the inspiration for HV4K’s Character of Research Effort (C.O.R.E.). He holds a B.A. in Psychology from St. John’s University in the Minnesota and a M.A. and PhD from Boston College. Greg currently works as a Professor of Psychology at California State University, Sacramento.
Sreeram believes in value-based education so strongly that he would like to operationalize it throughout the entire public education system in the USA.
Sreeram holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Jawaharlal Technological University in Anantapur, India, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from the University of California, Davis. He currently works as Product Manager at Amazon.com.
Jeff believes that the world desperately needs modern, moral thought leadership that can appeal to everyone in a non-threatening way, so he appreciates the opportunity to volunteer with HV4K in order to blend technology and fun, while making the world a better place.
Jeff holds a B.A. in Psychology, a B.A. in Philosophy, and an M.A. in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. He currently works as a software developer at Digium.
Jim believes that children who learn and practice human values will earn priceless rewards. Further, he believes that as they assimilate the concept of the universal worth of every person, and learn to appreciate as well as respect that which is unique to each individual, the global community, domestic and international, will emerge as one world rather than first, second, third or fourth worlds.
Jim is now retired after spending decades working for both the University of California and California State University systems.
Sathya believes that “the end of education is character” and that we must always “love all, serve all” and “help ever, hurt never”.
Sathya is the inspiration behind HV4K. His teachings pervade everything we have done, are doing, and will do in the future. While Sathya is no longer with us physically, we will always keep our 9th board seat open in His Honor as the de facto Chairman of the Board.
